Recycled + Reclaimed + Repurposed = Remarkable

OK, we're back! It's been a few weeks since our last posting and I'm so excited to fill you in on some Eco-Goodies I've recently discovered. With so many birthdays, weddings and special occasions in my life....I'm always on the look-out for unique and responsible gift ideas. Eureka!! I found them...
Check out these glasses by Rewined Recycled Glassware at Etsy.com. These sturdy yet sophisticated glasses are made from 100% recycled bottles, that are reclaimed from local bars and restaurants in Greensboro, NC. The artist, Bodhicitta, uses absolutely NO NEW MATERIALS!!! Make your guests Green with Envy with this stylish and super cool glassware.

Along with drinking good wine...another passion of mine is Sailing. So it was a no-brainer when I stumbled upon Ella Vickers Recycled Sailcloth Collection. Every piece they create is made with authentic recycled/reclaimed yacht sails. And as you can see...these stylish bags are not only Eco-friendly, they are extremely urban chic. The durable and sophisticated designs reflect the nautical lifestyle with crisp white Dacron Sailcloth and hi-performance Kevlar Sailcloth. This gorgeous collection ranges from the small cocktail cache to the functional tote messenger and the ocean durable duffel. They even have shower curtains and doggie beds!!! You can browse their wide range of designs at EllaVickers.com. Here are some of my favorites:

And for those of you who know me well...one of my biggest obsessions is Jewelry. I am very pleased to report that there are hundreds of jewelry designers that are using recycled and repurposed materials in their designs. In my opinion, it's silly not to! To break away from the standard, mass produced designs that saturate the jewelry market today...these designers are drawing inspiration from the earth, using unique and responsible materials to create one-of-a-kind treasures. I absolutely love these simple, yet stunning pieces from Bottled Up Designs. The designer Laura Bergman, creates this beautiful jewelry using recycled antique glass and reclaimed glass from bottle dumps. She even includes "The Story of the Glass" with each piece, detailing what the glass was originally and the approx. age of the piece.

So next time you're shopping for a gift (or for yourself)...why not look for goods that are made with recycled or reclaimed materials. By supporting these Eco-friendly companies, you are not only preserving history, but helping build a more sustainable future for our planet.
Have a great day!

Lila & Ben: A Southern Romance in the Vineyards

On July 10th, 2009...the magical wedding of Lila Luster and Ben Corbin took place in the stunning vineyard setting of Orfila Winery in Escondido, CA. The happy couple met when they were 15 years old at band camp, and it's been true love ever since. Green with Envy Events is so lucky and grateful to have been a part of this special union between two amazing people. And a special thanks to the expert eye of photographer Mark Hillis at Unveiled Wedding Photography. We are excited to share with you the absolutely perfect moments that he captured....

Isn't this a gorgeous picture of Lila? Her sweet smile and adorable dimples show all the excitement and anticipation she was feeling at this moment. We can't help but smile at this one:)

You'll notice the little touches of lace and romance all over this wedding, paying respect to Lila's southern upbringing. And each table was named after a classical composer, to honor Ben's passion and remarkable talent as a classical pianist. It seems Ben found two loves of his life at Band Camp;-)

The stunning floral arrangements were designed by Wholesale Flowers in San Diego. The lavish hydrangeas and delphiniums gave the perfect pop of color...and looked flawless up against the pale yellow linens.

The lush vineyards and sprawling valley provided a dramatic backdrop from every angle. Warm breezes floated through the air and left the guests feeling intoxicated with summer romance.

And as if it couldn't get any better...the sunset gave an enchanting end to a fairy-tale day. Ben and Lila danced the night away under a blanket of stars and then hopped into their Jaguar convertible and off they went....
It was such a pleasure to work with this amazing couple, and we wish you years and years of Married Bliss!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Corbin!
xoxo

Mike and Dominique's San Diego Wedding by the Sea

I have to share some stunning photos from the recent wedding of Mike Newton and Dominique Meinzen. Although this was their small San Diego wedding (the big party is later this month in St. Loius) there is no shortage of personality and charm! And not to mention a few of my favorite wedding trends. Check out Mike's red converse in this adorable jump shot! And I adore Dominique's sexy and totally unique dress. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!

And how beautiful is this shot with the umbrella? If it wasn't for the Mohawk and Converse...you might think this photo was from the 1930's.

Another one of our favorite trends here at Green with Envy are these precious bouquets made from fabrics, buttons, broaches, lace, etc. I think they are PERFECT! And best of all...they won't wilt, so she can one day pass these down to her daughter.

I absolutely love these seaside shots with the umbrella! Mike and Dominique make getting married look so glamorous. I can't wait to see what wedding #2 looks like.

From everyone here at Green with Envy Events...CONGRATULATIONS to Mike and Dominique on your stylish and wonderful marriage. May you Honeymoon Forever!!!! xoxo Carlee
